IntelliSense Battery

The IntelliSense battery contains an integrated memory chip that automatically stores important usage information, allowing you to maintain a complete record of the battery’s lifespan. Actual battery history can be viewed via RescueLink software.

NOTE. The battery is not rechargeable. Do not attempt to recharge the battery. Attempting to recharge the battery may result in explosion or fire.

NOTE. Lithium sulfur dioxide battery. Pressurized contents: Do not recharge, short-circuit, puncture, deform, or expose to temperatures above 65°C (149°F). Remove battery after discharge.

NOTE. Battery disposal. Recycle or dispose of lithium batteries in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. To prevent fire and explosion, do not burn or incinerate the battery.

NOTE. Use only with equipment approved by Cardiac Science. The use of non-Cardiac Science approved batteries, seals, cables, or optional equipment may cause the AED to malfunction during a rescue.

Battery Life

The battery has a useful life of 5 years. The useful life is the period during which the battery can be stored without degradation before installation in the AED. Note: Storage of the battery outside of the specified range (0 to 50°C) will shorten its life.

Installing the Battery

To install the battery:

1 Insert the battery as shown with the battery label facing the AED battery compartment.

2 Firmly push the end of the battery latch into the AED until the battery is in place as shown. The exposed side of the battery should be flush with the outside of the AED housing.

3 For Powerheart AEDs, open the lid for 5 seconds to initiate the self-test. The status indicator will turn green when the battery is properly installed. Close the lid. Or open the lid for 5 seconds to initiate the self-test. The SMARTGAUGE battery indicator LED will turn on when the battery is properly installed. The status indicator will also turn green. The support indicator will light up if assistance is needed.
