► Brief Introduction
AED Action
Make sure you don't respond, breathe or not breathe normally. then:
1. Press the on/off button to turn the device on.
When the device enters AED mode, it checks to see if the pads and
cable adhesives are properly connected.
2. Exposing the patient's chest. Wipe moisture from the patient's
chest and, if necessary, cut or shave excess chest hair.
3. Place multifunctional electrod cushions on the patient as
directed on the adhesive package.
4. Follow the screen and voice claims.
- If a shockable rhythm is detected, the device will be charged
automatically.
- If a shockable rhythm is not detected, the system demands "no
shock" and then CPR begins or resumes rhythm analysis according to
the current [NSA procedure] setting.
5. Press the shock button, if asked.
Make sure no one touches the patient, bed or any device connected
to the patient. She calls clearly and loudly "Stay clear." Then
press the shock button on the front panel to shock the patient.
The shock is confirmed by the sound wave and the "Shock Delivered"
screen and the shock counter is updated on the screen to reflect
the number of shocks provided. If the [shock chain] consists of
more than one, the device resumes analysis of the patient's rhythm
after directing the shock to see if the trauma is successful or
not. Voice and text claims continue to guide you through additional
shocks.

► Connecting Electrode Pads
1. Plug the pads connector into the pads socket.
2. Place the pads package into the pads compartment properly and
carefully.
NOTE
Make sure the pads package is intact before use. Otherwise, replace
it with a new one.
