About the keypress /Navigation Wheel

The Navigation Wheel is a push-button rotary wheel. The associated wheel circuit generates a pulse when pressed and produces a digital encoding of a pair of quadrature signals whose relative amplitude and polarity represent the angular position of the wheel. These outputs are connected to the µProcessor, where they are interpreted as required by the relevant functions. Successive angular positions determine the direction of rotation of the wheel. In addition to the functions performed with the keypad, the scroll wheel works with the display to select menus and lists of parameter variables.

Removing keypress encoder board

• 1. Separate the front and rear monitor case assemblies
• Remove the LCD display
• Pull the wheel off of the stem.

• Remove the locking nut and washer with a 10 mm wrench

• Remove the Torx T10 self-tapping screw

• Press the stem while lifting off the wheel assembly

Note — When you reattach the wheel, line up the flat side of the wheel to the flat side of the metal wheel stem
