The handle has a variety of uses in patient monitors. The modular design enables users to add adapters for specialized applications.

The Dash3000 handle has optional warning lights. This light is visible 360° around the patient monitor. This light is used in applications where audible notifications are not useful or effective, such as in noisy environments (such as emergency vehicles) or quiet environments (such as in newborn care areas). The alarm light indicates two levels of visual alarm: „crisis alarm (red LED) and „alarm alarm (amber LED). The handle also contains the wireless card antenna required for the optional wireless card subsystem.

Remove or replace handle assemble

1. Remove the two screws that attach the handle to the patient monitor. If the patient monitor has an alarm light or wireless option, be careful not to pull on the cord.

2. If the patient monitor does not have a wireless option, replace the defective handle assembly or go to "Removing or Replacing the Monitor Assembly" to replace other parts. If your patient monitor has a wireless option, connect the antenna as follows.

A.Remove the two screws to remove the new handle assembly. NOTE: Depending on the patient monitor's wireless technology, there may be one or two antennas. Be careful with the antennas and connectors as they are easily damaged.

B. Install the tube on the wireless antennas.

C. Install the antennas in the plastic slot.

D.Reattach the handle with the two screws. Feed the antenna (if equipped) through the bottom of the handle so it doesn't get caught between the two parts of the handle.

E..Remove the display assembly.

F. Thread the antenna (if the alarm light cable is present) into the patient monitor housing as shown.

NOTE: If the new handle assembly has an alarm light, the DAS assembly must be removed to connect the cable to J1 on the circuit board.

• Using needle-nosed pliers, insert the connector of the antenna coaxial cable into the WLAN card. Please select the coaxial cable according to the picture.

• Reinstall the monitor assembly.
