Adjust the battery

Batteries must be conditioned before first use. A battery conditioning cycle is a continuous charge of the battery followed by a continuous discharge of the battery. Batteries need regular conditioning to maintain their useful life. Condition the battery once after it has been used or stored for two months or if its operating time has decreased significantly.

Follow these steps to condition the battery:

1. Disconnect the monitor from the patient and stop any monitoring or measurement.

2. Insert the battery to be adjusted into the battery compartment of the monitor.

3. Connect the monitor to AC power and allow the battery to charge continuously for 10 hours.

4. Disconnect the AC power and run the monitor on battery power until it shuts down.

5. Reconnect the monitor to AC power and allow the battery to charge continuously for 10 hours.

6. The battery is now conditioned and the monitor can be used again

Check the battery

Rechargeable batteries can degrade over time. Follow these steps to check battery performance:

1. Disconnect the monitor from the patient and stop any monitoring or measurement.

2. Connect the monitor to AC power and allow the battery to charge continuously for 10 hours.

3. Unplug the power cord and run the monitor on battery power until it shuts down.

4. Battery life is a direct reflection of battery performance

If your monitor has two battery compartments, you can check both batteries at the same time. If the working time is much shorter than the specified time, please replace the battery or contact the service personnel.

Remarks

1. Expected battery life depends on frequency and length of use. Properly maintained and stored lead-acid or lithium-ion batteries have an expected life of approximately 2 and 3 years, respectively. With more aggressive usage patterns, life expectancy may be shorter. It is recommended to replace lead acid batteries every 2 years and lithium ion batteries every 3 years.

2. If the working time is too short after fully charged, the battery may be damaged or defective. Runtime depends on configuration and operation. For example, measuring NIBP more frequently also reduces procedure time.
